A brief overview…

Airoheart is an ode to the deep and emotional story telling of the Final Fantasy series, whilst also adopting the style and charm of early classics from The Legend of Zelda series. It's graphical art style and music are heavily inspired by such franchises with the core gameplay elements closely resembling that of 'A Link To The Past'.

It embraces old-school real-time combat situations mixed with puzzles and platforming sequences, all from the much loved top-down pixel art perspective of the mid 90s.

Airoheart features a huge new open world of extremes to explore, teeming with life, characters, and dangerous creatures...

An emotional tale…

Engard is a diverse continent on the cusp of war, and factional strife.

However, when Airoheart is unwittingly hurled into a much darker and sinister plot that could end in the decimation and enslavement of all life. A dire situation involving centuries of history, and family tragedy push Airoheart to confront his greatest fears and test the strength of his heart, and even his very moral fibre.

A story of betrayal, mystery, and redemption...

Airoheart is packed with fully choreographed and animated story scenes!

Along his journey, Airoheart will encounter strange and fascinating characters, with unique and interweaving stories. Some with noble pursuits, and some that confront Airoheart with morally ambiguous choices.

Airoheart has been developed in Unreal Engine 4. Giving us the ability to streamline the creation of a huge open-world via it's integrated Paper2D systems, and create sophisticated levels via it's powerful TileMap Editor...

 Music, setting the scene…

Some of the most memorable musical moments in gaming came from the SNES era. A time when limitations on consoles prevented things like voice acting from being possible. 

Musical scores had to drive the emotions in a story and scene much further than the more atmospheric and orchestral soundtracks we hear today.

In Airoheart we strive to replicate this concept, limiting our sound channels and sticking to small sample libraries, with prominent lead instruments.
